Ari, a 27-year-old trainee teacher, collapses during an exam and is subsequently signed off sick. Exhausted by the high demands of the job and the constant pressure, he decides to quit his job. This disappoints not only himself, but also his father, who subsequently kicks him out of the family home. Suddenly homeless and on his own, Ari seeks out old friends he hasn't been in touch with for a long time. This marks the beginning of a journey through his past that confronts him with questions he has long ignored. He meets Clara, a formerly fun-loving friend who seems to have lost her zest for life but cannot or will not admit it to herself. His friend Jonas, who lives in a luxurious house and has made a career for himself, also seems to have lost himself in his marriage and the pursuit of wealth. It quickly becomes clear that Ari is not the only one who is taking detours in his search for the best way through life. On his journey from couch to couch, he finally ends up with Ryad, who is still in contact with Ari's ex-girlfriend Irène. When he sees her again, he has to question his fears and ideas about adulthood. Ari has to find an answer to whether he is now ready to take on the responsibility he avoided in the past. Will he free himself from his disorientation and find his way to himself?
